Recipe: Cherry Pie Bars
Ingredients 3 cups flour 3/4 cup sugar 1/2 tsp salt 1 1/2 cups cold butter, cut into cubes 1 large can cherry pie filling 3/4 cup chopped pecans 1 cup powdered sugar 4-5 tbsp milk 1/4 tsp vanilla Prepare 9x13 pan by lining with tin foil. Spray foil with cooking spray. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar and salt. Cut in butter cubes until mixture is crumbly. Reserve 1 cup of the crumb mixture, and press the remaining amount in the bottom of the prepared pan. Pressing down to level it out, Bake at 350F for 20 minutes. Remove from oven, and spread cherry pie filling over the bottom layer. Add the chopped pecans to the 1 cup of crumb mixture that was set aside, and sprinkle over top of the pie filling. Return to the oven and bake for another 40 minutes. While the bars are baking, combine the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla to make a thin glaze. Allow the bars to cool before drizzling the glaze over top. Cut into squares. |
