Garden Progress Report - July 2016

Today I thought I would share with you the progress that is happening in my garden. It has been, I want to say miraculous, but it's more than that. There is satisfaction, contentment, security, happiness and surprises.
There is satisfaction that things are moving along the way that I had planned it out. The satisfaction of things well done.
Contentment comes as I tend to the things that were planted, feeding them, watering them and protecting them from weeds, bugs, and other things that would harm what has been accomplished.
Security is in the knowledge that I made it work and that I can provide some of the food that my family needs, in whatever I have to work with, such as growing everything in containers.
Happiness engulfs me as I enjoy the fruits of my labours and the labours of those who helped me along the way.
The surprises are almost daily as plants, tenderly watched over (and in some cases, prayed over), bring forth their bounty. I have already been able to share with my sister the first of the zucchini. I have discovered two spaghetti squash on the vines along with many blossoms that signal more on the way! The bean teepee is loaded with tiny, tender green beans! I have never grown peppers before and there are many on the plants. The clematis that I had despaired of ever having blossoms has issued forth with vibrant, purple flowers.
My garden brings me peace. Finding such in a small backyard when the world around me is falling apart, tearing itself to pieces is miraculous indeed.
